Common questions

Is Sourclip really free?

Yes — completely free. No account, no subscription, no trial period. Install it and use it forever at no cost.

Does it work on every website?

It works on most public webpages. Paywalled articles and pages that require a login may not extract correctly, since Sourclip can only access content your browser can already see.

Where does my data go?

Nowhere — all your clips and history stay in your browser using Chrome's local storage. Sourclip does not have a server that stores your content. The only exception is if you voluntarily join our waitlist, in which case your email is stored securely in Supabase.

Can I choose which NotebookLM notebook receives each clip?

Yes. The extension shows your notebooks and lets you pick one before sending. It remembers your last choice so repeat captures go to the right place automatically.

Does Sourclip modify the page or affect my browsing?

No. Sourclip only reads the current page when you click the icon. It does not run in the background, track your history, or alter any page content.
